New Star Energy Services provides a full range of energy curtailment and energy conservation related services.

About the client: New Star Energy Services provides a full range of energy curtailment and energy conservation related services including: NYSERDA Incentive Payments, NYISO Demand Response Programs, Energy Reduction Plans, Advanced Metering Systems or Federal Tax Credits with EPACT 2005. New Star Energy Services is also a proud Founding Member of Operation Green Apple - a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping to reduce the carbon foot-print of New York City.

Requirements: The client initially came to Adevox for a simple website re-design, but once he was convinced that we’re the right team for him, he also decided to go for some extra functionalities and brochure designing. New Star’s website had to include, besides the sharp graphics, designated functions for private area log-in, newsletter subscription and download center. The website’s admin also had to allow the client to edit all the written content, uploaded materials or signed-up users.

Solution: The layout we designed for this project tries to stand up from the “eco” themes that have been presented lately throughout the web sphere.

What did the client say: Again - thanks for your hard work and I think it looks very nice! You have done a lot of work and I hope to throw plenty more your way!

June 4th, 2008 Adevox launches its blog design and development portfolio

It’s been a while since we started designing and developing custom blog themes. Aside from the in-house corporate blogs (i.e: Twenty’s blog, Overbridge’s blog), we received several requests from actual or past clients for whom we’ve implemented different SEO campaigns. At first we only thought of it as a non-consequent side activity, then we built an entire department to handle blog related projects and, lastly, but not least, now we’re ready to show them to you.

Our fellow colleagues at Overbridge and us have put together a list with our latest works and added it in the website’s menu, under the surprisingly suggestive name “Blog Design”. You can check it out here.

About the client: Helios Realty & Development is a commercial real estate services company founded in 2005 by a group of experienced real estate professionals seeking to deliver a higher standard of one-to-one service to real estate owners, investors, developers and tenants in the greater Chicagoland area. Helios also owns a full-service residential sales and marketing business, which operates under the banner of Real Living Helios Realty as a member of a national franchise network. Further, the Helios group of companies includes a development/investment operation and a construction consulting/general contracting business.

Requirements: This is the second project we have developed for the Helios Realty team. It consisted of a fresh, but yet corporate, website developed for one of their residential projects, named “2800 Lincoln”.

Solution: Since the building itself is made of irregular shapes, the website also needed to borrow some of its style, so the users could get a better glance on the project. We avoided using custom shapes in the design, but, yet, found a consistent solution by using different shades of the same color in order to create an irregular effect. This website, too, is powered by a custom Content Management System giving the administrators abilities to change content, send and manage newsletters or add photo galleries.

The team at Buzz Technologies came to us with the idea of a new search engine [...]

About the client: Buzz Technologies, Inc. was founded in 2005 as an Internet Technology outsourcing firm and has recently diversified into a fast growing global brand that will change the way people use the Internet. Communications, Entertainment, E-Commerce and Interactivity across a range of devices from PC to Mobile Phones is the core of Buzz Technologies, Inc.

Requirements: The team at Buzz Technologies came to us with the idea of a new search engine that was to be named “12buzz” (which is, actually, read “1…2…buzz” and not “twelve buzz”). They needed us to help them create the key visual style of the brand and the logo itself.

Solution: While selecting the color scheme and the general visual aspect was rather easy, both for our customers and us, translating into the logo the key element that the numbers “1″ and “2″ should be seen separately and, in the same time, avoid to leave too many blank spaces between the logo’s main components . So we came up with the idea of three playful spheres (another major aspect that the logo should transmit) that, all together, devolve the sensation of movement; the number three also stands for the number of steps that the user usually takes when using a search engine: entering the website, writing the keyword down and clicking the “Search” button.

What did the client say: If you are looking for a design up to the standard of corporate giants on the Internet, these guys will meet your expectations and they are very well priced, also willing to negotiate on the price to keep projects going.

Further, the Helios group of companies includes a development/investment operation and a construction consulting/general contracting business.

Requirements: Helios’s Mr. Andrew Magliochetti described the desired website as a classic presentation website, with no “out of the box” features, but driven by a fully loaded Content Management System so his team and him could be able to modify, at any time, every bit of the website. They also needed a Loopnet application to be integrated into the website for users to check out available properties in specific areas.

Solution: The layout we designed is specific to corporate real estate websites, that need to look sharp, nicely lined up and, most important, well defined. For the back end we have used the classical LAMP solution, that integrates specific functionalities for: content, news and photo gallery administration, newsletter layout, content and users management and Loopnet API management.

About the client: SSSlide.com is the result of a new and exhilarating idea in online advertising that emerged in 2007. As online businesses became more and more successful, they understood how important it is for websites to establish and make this eminent to its owners.

Requirements: Our client needed a website that is an innovation and a design and graphic showcase. Dynamic and constantly changing, the website also needed a powerful database behind it, as well as an easy-to-use Content Management System. The website’s options and pages were not so vast - the main focus had to be the Home page with its stars slide show - therefore it had to be designed to look like a million dollars!

Solution: Everything on this site needed to express glamor, exhilaration and luxury. An appropriate layout was design to incorporate all these. The website’s main colors are green (we all know what that stands for - money) and black, to induce earnestness to its users and affiliates. The main page was developed in Flash, in order to obtain all the effects our customer wanted, while the rest of them are XHTML based with a PHP/MySQL back-end.

What did the client say: Had a great time developing the design and concept with Adevox, they are efficient , professional and competent.

About the client: An important TV productions company.

Requirements: Our customers wanted Adevox to change their existing icons for one of their shows: 1 each for “My Videos”, “My Music”, and “My Photos”. The icons needed to work well on a TV screen, therefore simpler/softer images would have work better.

Solution: We have created two different iterations of each icon, being careful to maintain a certain level of consistency between the designs of each set. Blue gradients and shades of gray were used for the backgrounds, while the icons were designed as life full as possible but, in the same time, they were also well integrated into the general look and feel.

What did the client say: Adevox have done excellent work, and we will definitely consider them for future design projects.

About the client: The Courtyard Villa is an expanding catering company, based in Arlington, Texas, USA.

Requirements: We were initially asked to design the company’s logo and to develop a simple presentation website with the ability to support audio, video, and image content. An easy-to-use back-end panel was also thrown in, so that our customers could rapidly modify the website’s content. But once we developed the Flash animation, the customer decided to go with a full Flash website, instead, with an XML based admin.

Solution: Both the logo and the layout we’ve designed for the project were centered around the idea of “nature” (just like most of the events they deal with: weddings, baptizing events and so on; moreover, the concept of “nature” is also highly considered in their products). A light brown with different green insertions was chosen for the key visual elements and black for titles and text forms. The development of the project opposed no problems whatsoever, the only “out of the box” items were the flash gallery, the music player as well as the XML administration.

What did the client say: We are extremely pleased with the end product. Adevox accommodated every revision and implemented every change we requested. The manager we worked with was always extremely prompt, polite and professional, even communicating with us well after business hours in order to help us get things done more quickly. We would heartily recommend Adevox to anyone looking for a talented and professional web design team: they have repeatedly gone above and beyond the initial scope of our project, and we could not be more pleased with their work.
